When a client asked for a 6-foot round dining table that could open up for extra seating, we knew the engineering under the hood would be just as critical as the finish on top.

• Sculpted Pedestal Base: To anchor a 72-inch top and handle the cantilevered weight when expanded, we glued up stacked hardwood blocks with internal tenons before hand-shaping the flared, concave pedestal.

• Heavy-Duty Slide System: Custom wooden extension slides are concealed right inside the subframe, allowing the two massive halves to glide open effortlessly for extra leaves while keeping the top completely rigid.

• Dual-Tone Contrast: We finished the base and apron in a deep ebonized dark tone, creating a sharp visual foundation that lets the natural, sweeping grain of the clear-coated walnut top shine.
